Professional approach in clay Enjoy a hands-on, creative experience that will take you through all the steps needed to create a finished piece. The first 12 sessions will be hand building process followed by learning to shape making, trimming, turning and finishing the semi-dried (leather hard) clay. After the piece has gone through its first kiln firing, you will learn surface decoration methods. Our final class is a glaze session where we celebrate what we have made and finish glazing the pieces you've made throughout your session.

  • Introduction of kick wheel and electric wheel.
  • Throwing process- placing, centering and gripping the clay.
  • Shape making in throwing process.
  • Decorative and graphic patterns.
  • Geometrical designs, forms, composition and space division.
  • Designing process on leather-hard objects by carving, inlay etc.
  • Designing process on dry pot by colour slip and engobe.
  • Information and technique about glaze.
  • Applications and effects of glazing.
  • Information about kiln- Uploading & Unloading
  • Firing process- care and instructions.
  • To fire self created ceramic pieces.
  • Discussion and workshop by ceramic artists.
  • Introduction to ceramic sculpture and mural- process, technique and forms.
  • Exhibition of final works.
